Subject: Internet VoiceChat V1.0 Released! Live voice over the net!
I'm pleased to announce that Internet VoiceChat Version 1.0 is released!
IVC allows users to conduct live voice conversations over the Internet
using their PC's. Included in the package is an Answering Machine, Call
Screening, complete online help, and much more. Now you can talk to
anyone--using your own voice--who has a net connection, without picking up
the phone!
Well, it seems like every FTP server on the planet is busy now, but I've
managed to upload Internet VoiceChat Version 1.0 to the following sites:
b61503.student.cwru.edu : /uploads (will be moved to /winsock)
www.unb.ca : /incoming (will be moved to /pub/winsock)
ftp.demon.co.uk : /pub/ibmpc/winsock/incoming
I plan to upload to ftp.cica.indiana.edu, wuarchive.wustl.edu,
garbo.uwasa.fi, msdos.archive.umich.edu, and oak.oakland.edu when they
become available. This message will be posted to alt.winsock only. When
I've finished posting to all sites, I'll be posting again here, as well as
to a few other appropriate groups.

Subject: Naive question(s)
I've been charged with finding a public domain winsock package that
will run with a TCP/IP stack over SLIP. Dialup support is not
necessary but would be nice. The group I'm doing this for is going
to be writting some SNMP code to sit on top of the winsock. Does
anyone have any recommendations on a) the package to use and b)
where to find it?
Thanks in advance.

Hmm. Anyone else getting GPFs?
Here's what happens to me-
WSGopher runs happily for a while. It's fun.
The program craps out.
A little while _after_ the program crashes, Windows hangs and I have to
reboot.
WSG10 is running over trumpet winsock.
Too bad about this- I really like the old wsg tons- the MDI interface is
great, especially if you're running on a dial-up line. I wish more slip apps
took this approach- you can view a file (or do just about anything else
for that matter) as data comes in, rather than having to constantly wait
for transfers to complete themselves. The new features look really cool.
If only it worked :)
